Broadbeach Country Music Festival

If you love the beach and you have a soft spot for country music, then the Broadbeach Country Music Festival is the place you need to be this June. Taking place from Friday 20th June to Sunday 22nd, this promises to be 3 days of sun, sand, surf and darn good country music. So make sure you book your Broadbeach accommodation early – so you don’t miss out on all the awesome entertainment.

What to expect at the Broadbeach Country Music Festival

One of the best things about this festival is that it is totally FREE. There are no entrance fees, so you can just swagger on down and pick and choose the music that sets your soul on fire.

People come from all over Australia for this Country Music Festival, they bring their swags, their boots and their utes - and get ready for 3 whole days of country goodness. And there are so many awesome acts this year.

How about a few songs by Troy Cassar-Daly, Adam Harvey, Saleen McAlister or the HillBilly Goats? And these are just a few of the more than 3 dozen famous acts that you will see at this festival.

The 3-day program is jam packed with famous artists all ready to share their love for country music with you, your friends and your family. And one of the great things about this festival is that the acts are dotted all around Broadbeach.

Some are at Broadbeach Mall, Grumpy’s Barefoot Bar & Grill, The Envy Hotel, Niecon Plaza, Oasis Shopping Centre and Mario’s Italian Restaurant - and these are just a few of the stages where you can see your favourite artists perform.

So you can chose your setting, stay there a while and listen to all the different acts or wander around the different stages and pick and choose who you want to listen to – depending on your mood.

Things to do at Broadbeach

The problem with this festival is timing - you will want to spend time on the beach and in the surf – and listen to the fabulous country music as well. So it is a weekend of awesome choices. Maybe the best way is to pick your artists, decide where you want to linger over lunch and then hit the beaches in between.

Don’t forget the fabulous shopping at Broadbeach. Check out Pacific Fair, Oasis Shopping Centre or the Niecon Plaza. There are so many different designer and boutique shops here, your itinerary will be full to the brim. And don’t forget to book your Broadbeach accommodation so that you can have one of the best country weekends ever.

May madness on the Gold Coast

Sometimes it feels like a crime to go indoors when the skies are clear - so they're taking the opera out of the theatre and onto the beach.

Picture a giant sandcastle on the beach at Coolangatta, families enjoying a picnic, children playing as the sun goes down, and miraculously beautiful music. And there you have a uniquely Australian production of Mozart's The Magic Flute.

This new production is co-presented by Opera Australia and Bleach* Festival and stars some of Australia's finest singers alongside a chorus of community choirs and the Gold Coast's own surf life saving clubs.

Together they battle the serpent, put a spell on the guards and rescue the princess, before sending you home with stars in your eyes, sand in your shoes and songs in your heart.
